"Ibadan ni mowa" was the song that played in my head as the bike man headed for Mokola Roundabout. I decided he was going to be my tour guide till we got to Mokola, he showed me the cocoa house, Dugbe and some other places. I got to Mokola roundabout, entered a taxi to UI(University of Ibadan), got there 15 minute later. It wasn't hard for me to locate my friend Tobi, adrenaline rushed in, finally I was going to see the zoo, see the animals live. Had the mindset of we trekking down to where the zoo was but only took a few steps then got tired. I pleaded for a cab,we got one and headed for the zoo. At the entrance, some students lined up as they paid before going in.
Finally, they were done, it got to our turn and 500 naira was collected per head(in my mind it was too much, paying 500 naira to see animals? ). The first animal I got to see was 'marabou stark ' it looked like a chicken but only with long neck, legs and a long peak(nah just joking doesn't look anything like a chicken) . I saw other animals like the soft shelled turtle, dwarf crocodile, warthog, Goose, monkey, swan, duck, hyena, ostrich, gorilla, snakes, peacock, horse, lion, crocodile, spotted/stripped Hyena, and camel.
There wasn't much to do in the zoo, went from one cage to another, saw the animals, took pictures of them and myself (couldn't even snap with them. Lol). The sun pitied us in no way as it was very hot .
It was lovely seeing the animals but got tired at a point. Only if the zoo keepers made provision for other things people can be involved in(probably games). Would I like to visit the zoo again? Of course not, except I read a new animal is held in captive. Would I like to visit ibadan again? Oh! Yes! Wasn't opportune to eat Amala, gbegiri and ewedu in a local restaurants would like to someday. Would I like to live in ibadan? Not so sure, wasn't really comfortable with the environment. Would I love to visit other states? Yes if opportune.#lindaikejiblog#lindaikeji#olorisupergal#stelladimokokus#instablog#instablogger#bellanaija#tourism#tourist#writersofinstagram#writerscommunity
