I was walking in the streets of San Jose, Costa Rica 🇨🇷today. The city 🏙 is far underdeveloped compared to its living expenses💲💵, though it is full of life, how poor those may be. People are always busy talking to each other, utilizing streets as a cafe ☕️or a community living room, a lifestyle that is far lost in my hometown of Chicago. I was very happy to live in one of the most beautiful city in the world, and traveling through over 20 countries reinforced that view. No where in the world is as beautiful as summer time in Chicago. However, I was very lonely in that beautiful town. Everyone minds their own business, and finding 30 min of friends' 👯♂️ time meant 3 weeks of planning ahead only to find out that they flake out in the last minute. Situation gets worse in the dating ♥️scene as everyone is window shopping. Finding a time with a potential mate has about a month or two back log since everyone is seeing multiple people at a time. When I walked passed these old men, I remembered the old times when my grandpa 👴🏼used to take me to wherever he goes. He had pack of friends everywhere in the city of Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. Old men would get together, just as shown in this photo, and used to talk about politics, social destruction, and economic collapse that were sweeping through Post-Soviet era in Mongolia. Some of them used to worry about finding next loaf of bread as stores would run out of goods quite frequently. Those were hard times to live, though I think I was the happiest then hanging out with the most beloved person of my life. May be it was that childhood innocence, however, I never was lonely back then. .
