I’ve always loved writing: penning my own tales, or pinning down quotes from a beloved story. Language has always drawn me into its world.
This here is my dearest writer’s notebook, not my oldest mind you.
I always tried to journal from a young age, but could never get into it. But saving bits of the best writing I read, that I could do. My Quotes Journal.
Every year, when I’m teaching “All But My Life,” by Gerda Weissmann Klein, I grab out my treasured letter from her and Holocaust Museum postcards, all living inside this notebook. The cover and pages have their own natural filter now, but this mini volume feels as fresh and alive to me, as the day I began writing in it.
