145kg back squat, a PR for me in the last 2 years.

How many times have you heard things like this before

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and it kick starts your metabolism.

You should eat low carb high fat and protein for breakfast because you'll store carbs as fat.

Firstly let's look at breakfast being the most important meal and kick starting your metabolism.

I've had so many people say to me "I don't eat breakfast and I really know I should and it's bad for me not to" this really isn't true there's a lot of studies been done on this and also intermittent fasting where as you wouldn't eat your first meal until maybe 10am-2pm and it has no effect on the metabolism at all, your metabolism is working regardless and is determined by your own body not a meal.

Breakfast is just that your breaking your fast so weather it's 6am or 6pm it's still your breakfast plus some people just can't eat when they wake me being one of them so why try and force it because you've heard you have to eat it in a morning.

Now onto what to eat.

Some will say keep the carbs low and eat higher fat and protein others will say eat your carbs in the morning because you have all day to burn them off, now for the average person wanting to improve their health and maybe lose a few pounds an adequate mix of carbs protein and fat will be sufficient.

You will NOT store the carbs as fat reason being your in a fasted state and you glycogen stores (what carbs convert to) are depleted so they will just be filled ready to be used as energy again.

To simplify things a little my advice is this

If your hungry when you wake eat if not then don't eat until later in the day, if you prefer to eat a meal higher in fat and protein then do so if your prefer to eat a meal higher in carbs then do that.

Then main thing to account for is your total daily calorie and macro (carbs/fat/protein) intake and what you feel your most likely to be able to stick with.

GRATITUDE ROCK

With the world we live in nower days it's so easy to get caught up in thoughts of what we wish we had like more money more materialistic things a better body the list goes on and on.

Don't get me wrong I'm no different I often think about these things as well as saying why me? why do I have type 1 diabetes, why do I have hypothyroidism.

Our minds get blurred with thoughts of what we wish we had that we often forget about what we do have even the simple things such as food and water whenever we want them, a bed to sleep in, people around us who care and the fact we get to wake up each morning.

Each day I grab this peice of rock make a fist and say one thing I'm grateful for in my life and you know what it makes me feel pretty damn good.

It doesn't have to be a rock it can be any object just something that reminds you of gratitude for what you have.

I'm not saying it's bad to want and have dreams but when that "want" becomes bigger than "have" it makes you feel like shit and who wants that?
