"Keep fishing fun" ... remember that. The new tile design that is called "Fjord Tommorrow" that was carved in Norway during my trip this past September is out of the kiln. @jeanett_fishing is flattered that I choose her to be inspired and create a line of tiles that not only speak to my heart which is fishing and Norway but it is my idea to let this experiment grow and see what happens, so I know in my heart that this is something different and new...an idea no one has attempted. Yes I have a whole collection of wildflowers over 30 Michigan wildflowers and I will continue to make them but this is something altogether different spanning the ocean. It was a very tricky tile to glaze because it had to do with Reflections in the water and fjords so I was doing many experiments on 11 of them to try to figure out how to make the colors. The next batch, because I only glazed half of them, will be the result of me having zoomed in on these first ones. Here are the three that I like the best. The colors are much more brilliant than in the photo because I was dealing with conditions that I never tried before and I knew if I went to much it would be better than if I went to little. If you go and check out Jeanette's Instagram you will see that she also has an idea that is unlike anyone else I've seen it's not just fishing but also fish. I'm really looking forward to making more tiles being inspired from her work. My plan is to give her all of these tiles that I make at some point and like I said who knows what could happen with this idea.
