The thermic effect of food shown refers to the macronutrients in whole foods. Manipulating foods by cooking, frying, and so on will adjust the TEF down. -
Processed foods will have much lower thermic effect because the foods are broken down and more easily digested compared to their whole food counterparts. -
Therefore it’s best to eat more whole food ingredients to raise the amount of calories utilized in digesting and absorbing the food you eat. #optimumperformancenutrition #republicofstrength -
