I had the chance to test out how well my workouts the past few months have improved my cardio. Did a mud run obstacle course and it was a blast. I have to say the cardio held up and I wasn’t dying! Tons of laughs, giant mud slip n slide, and mud in places we won’t even talk about. It was so much fun. Can’t wait for next year! *

HOW TO OVERCOME A PLATEAU by @marcinevin ・・・
Regardless of your goal, be it losing fat, gaining muscle, or increasing strength, when that progress you were seeing comes to a halt, it can be frustrating.

Truth is, plateaus are an inevitable part of the process when working towards a goal. While many people take the first sign of slowed progress as a reason to automatically change things up, the best practice is just to remain patient and ride it out for a bit.

But what happens when some time has gone by and you aren’t noticing any changes? The scale won’t budge, your clothes don’t fit any better, your strength has stagnated, and you aren’t noticing visual changes. While a few weeks of this won’t warrant taking different action, if you’re coming up on a month or more at a plateau, then it’s probably time to make some adjustments.

However, don’t make all of these changes at once. Pick one, give it some time to work, then reassess.

Tracking your calories for 1-2 weeks can help you see how much you’re really eating. Are you sneaking in little bites here and there that you don’t even realize? Also be honest about your weekends. Are you overindulging and undoing all the progress you made during the week?

Once your weight has changed, you’ll need to recalculate your calorie needs. Your new bodyweight will require a different amount of calories then when you first started.

If you’ve been lifting the same weight for the same amount of reps for months on end, it’s time to increase the intensity if you want to keep getting stronger and building more muscle.
#
Increasing non gym activity helps burn more calories without having to decrease the amount of food you’re eating or increase your exercise. Best of all it’s less taxing on your body.

If you’re stressed out and not sleeping well, your body will do everything it can to remain safe, which means not losing fat, getting stronger or adding muscle. It will also throw your hormones out of whack, which can make it more difficult to progress.
#
If you’ve been dieting for months, take a break and allow your hormones to recover and your metabolic rate to increase.
