Last night at #oakandivy my wife and I went to a #georgedickel tasting... They had an 8yr., a 12yr., a Barrel Select and a special addition, #thehillhavenlodge.
I liked the 12yr. and Barrel Select from Dickel as they both had good bold flavor. The 12yr. had a more pronounced corn flavor you can identify and the Select carries those flavors through but also has notes that remind me of a more aged Scotch.
The Hillhaven Lodge is a blend of 3 liquors (a bourbon, a Tennessee whisky (Dickel) and a rye whiskey). It has nice caramel notes but overall has a pretty mild flavor profile.
The Tennessee mule in the Dickel tin can was made with the 8yr. old whisky. Nice branding that we were able to take home... The Old Fashioned was made with the Hillhaven Lodge and was a bit sweeter than I like, but was a hit with my wife.
Let me know if you have any questions... Enjoy...!
