Hitting the stack and then some on Tricep pushdown. Had a high carb day yesterday, making sure I put the glycogen I stored to good use today! Finishing up with post workout cardio right now on the treadmill. Right now I'm doing a carb cycle. Day 1: 800 Grams
Day 2: 100 Grams (Today)
Day 3: 300 Grams
Day 4: 0 Grams
Repeat.

Pretty belated, but I did it! The run itself was great, but sadly no #PB injury played but between mile 2-10 and my leg sort of went numb 😬 running with a brick leg is harder than I thought haha! However, only 2 minutes 23 seconds slower than last year when I ran it and I know if I was injury free I could have easily pushed for 2:15! Better give the leg a rest now! After the race I headed straight back out for #roastdinner with friends, which was awesome! Hope everyone else had a great Sunday!!!

Race day is here! I’m returning for a second go...#stroudhalfmarathon was my first half, completed in 2:30, I’ve done a lot more races since so let’s hope I can get a #PB on this course today! Happy #running and good luck to anyone else who’s racing today!

Calves! I honesty haven't trained calves in a while. Whatever size I have on my calves I believe I got from so much Incline cardio. But, worked out with @mariogironfit and he reminded me each muscle needs overload for optimal growth. 🤙

Yesterday I got more steps than any other day (waaaay more). This morning I need to put this here as a place holder to remind myself that I can do all types of things that seem out of reach. I more than doubled my elliptical time, using it to watch a basketball game where I previously sat on my butt for two plus hours multiple times a week to watch for years. And then I told myself I wanted to try to be active while watching so I made it happen. My legs began to burn at almost two hours through, and I desperately needed the bathroom so I had the passing thought that nobody would know if I stopped before the game was over. But actually, I would know. And so I pushed harder. As I approach a deadly week in grad school and try to wrap my brain around all the assignments I need to complete this weekend, this is a good reminder to me that I’m capable of anything as long as I work for it. Happy weekend, people. Go get your goals and make yourself proud 💪🏽😍🤘🏽

I've been feeling more motivated than ever to push my body to see what It can do. 20 Years Young, striving to become better at my craft each and every day. Today, I filled the Incline machine up with plates for some good reps. There is a couple reasons I believe everyone who exercises who at least have some type of weight training in their routine. Not only does weight training have metabolism boosting, muscle building, fat burning, cardiovascular, and major joint benefits (if form is done correctly) the mental therapy it provides is like no other. Getting stronger and looking better every week is an extremely uplifting feeling. Sure, cardio is great. But, it's the same thing session after session. 30 minutes of the treadmill or bike will always be 30 minutes on the treadmill or bike. You can always go for faster miles or higher Incline, but in my experience getting stronger is a much better feeling. For me, if I'm having a bad day I can look forward to going to the gym and taking my mind away from whatever is bothering me. I know that for the one hour I'm in the gym, everything in the outside world is drowned out. It's my time to enjoy my hobby and become better at what I love to do. The endorphins that are released during weight training is all I need.
