Throwback to June 17th at the @npcwestcoast with the champ @ullerick . Have nothing but respect for this dude or anyone who competes every year.. can't wait to frame this picture in my house in the next decade or so when he's in the Olympia. Lol. I remember sitting with him and @ra_rice_official eating rice cakes and peanut butter with no water intake since last night before we went on stage. ๐Ÿ™ƒ On another note.. Competing definitely requires an amount of dedication that's on another level. It's hard to believe this was already two months ago, and that I'm already back to my old size ๐Ÿ˜‚ looking back on it, I realize how much it takes out of you. Sure, losing weight is hard. They say competing isn't for everyone, not everyone can complete a prep. It's common for people to drop out 2-3 weeks before the show because it becomes too much. I remember I wouldn't be able to fall asleep for hours some nights. My blood sugar would drop so low I'd wake up in the middle of the night wanting to eat, and then just stay up sometimes because I'd have to do cardio at 3AM before work. Of course not every competitor goes through that extreme that I did, but it's still crazy difficult. If you're going to compete, give yourself more than enough time to drop the body fat trust me.. I sure don't regret doing it though! I showed myself I really can do anything I put my mind to.

๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธPersonally, one method of progressive overload I use is performing 5x5 with pull-ups, and increasing the weight I add by 5lbs each week. This has allowed me to hit a 100lbs pull-up for 2 reps. .
๐Ÿ’ช๐ŸผFor bicep curls, try adding 5lbs to a 3x8 every other week. You should see some solid progress.

Eating convenience and junk foods in moderation will do you no harm but sadly I couldnโ€™t ever understand moderation. The quicker it cooked or delivered was most important. Food is like, actually no, food is a drug and I overdosed big time! Celebrations, commiserations and everything in between. That horrible feeling the next day after a binge is something I never want to feel again, hate, disgust and feeling like crap! Eating well has the complete opposite effect, energy, happiness and generally feeling awesome! ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿผ

Leg day with the bro @wulfrix_insta_gramless_ricky I broke him ๐Ÿ˜Ž You're welcome! One of the best sessions we've had together. We both pushed ourselves to the limits! I ended it off with some good old AMRAP Sumo deadies. Loaded the bar up to my approximate body weight of 100kg (220 lb). I got 15 reps on it. I feel like I could have gone for more but at the same time, I wanted to go easy on my back. I need it intact for Friday when I do heavy Deadies. Gym consistency is looking good. The intensity of my sessions are starting to come back to normal. Now I just need to get back into meal preps again and my weight loss journey will finally be back where I left it pre-vacation! Sub 100kg here I come! Today was the sweatiest and most awesomely intense leg (and bicep) workouts I have done in a very long time!!! I actually left without my shorts to work out in and when I went home I almost decided not to go, but I am SO glad I did!
Kept my rest times down today as I was meeting a friend after and this made the session EXTREMELY intense and at the same time, really kept me in the zone!

Practice good habits and enjoy the benefits. If you want to start something or make any type of change in your life, start as soon as you can. Believe it or not, telling yourself you'll start later or next week is a very bad habit. Don't tell yourself you'll start when school ends, when you're back from vacation that's 3 months away, when you do this or that, because that's when it's convenient for you. In reality, there will be times where it won't be convenient for you. This applies to any goal you may have in mind, not just fitness. You have to work hard and push to limits you didn't know you could. Don't settle, don't stay stagnant, always strive for something better. Have a plan, don't just go to school so you can tell yourself you're going to school to make yourself feel more productive, or stay at a job you don't like but hey it's a job and you have all the time in the world to find a better one, right? Or maybe you're chillin because your parents make enough money to take care of you so there's no pressure.. but if you want your own success you better start looking now, trust me! Have a plan, and if you're unsure of what you want to do, that's normal! Especially at a young age. But, that's no excuse to not be pursuing different and new things to see what catches your eye. Take control of your life and don't let it pass you by!! #Transformationtuesday - almost at 65lbs down, just grinding every day and I want it baaaad! Once I'm down 65, I'll be gunning for 70, then 75, and so on. Some days it's hard to feel like I've made much progress, and when I see myself and realize how far I still have to go it can be a lot to process. A different form of cardio I don't usually do.. I normally do 30-45 minutes on the treadmill, 5 days a week at about a 10.0 Incline and 3.0 speed (heart rate is kept at about 140) but it's always fun to switch things up. I've been enjoying other parts of the fitness game like Yoga, Jump roping, plyometrics, tire flipping, etc. I'll always lift 4-6 days a week but it keeps it fun trying out new things!

A majority of people will find that their incline bench is significantly weaker than their flat bench.. this is normal due to the difference in leverage and which portion of the chest is being stimulated. Start your chest workout off with Incline and keep it heavy for 4-10 reps and track your reps and weight each week to ensure you're progressing, this will bring the gains! ๐Ÿ’ช

If you couldn't get outside to see the eclipse, don't worry - I've got you covered ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ In California we had about 75% view and as I was going in to the gym everyone was standing outside with their special glasses. Stoked people were sharing, it was actually pretty cool to check it out through those lenses. And I killed my step goal by walking the parking lot, stopping as I lapped around to check out the view through the glasses, and then inside for my workout.
