Everyone, especially those that can't swim, are asking me how was the swim part of the Triathlon? Full details will be in our newsletter next month but here is the short of it. I'm the guy with the white cap all the way to the right next to the buoy.
I was not concerned about the Hudson water and all the talk about the water being dirty etc. I mentally took that out of my mind months ago. Having that in my mind would have just added to my fear of open water swimming and drowning. As someone who didn't know how to swim, my concern was getting to the end! I was super relax right before I jumped in but as soon as I went under my adrenaline kicked in!! I had to check that and tell myself this is not fear this is just you excited to get to the end. The race begins now!! So for the next several minutes I was just telling myself: stay relax, slow down, stay relax and breath!! The main thing is that I trained for every thing that could happen! When I got bumped, which normally I would have freak out, I stayed in control and even pushed the guy away from me!😬 I took every tip that was giving to me. I practiced and executed it the day of the race. I kept sighting to see where I had to get out and I didn't freak out when I couldn't see it at first! My biggest tip is Train and give yourself time to Train. Keep working on it and it will come together one day. Believe me I thought it wasn't going to happen at one point!! TRAIN, TRAIN & TRAIN some more! I can't wait to get even better!🙌🏼 Thank you everyone for your support and positive comments! It keeps me motivated!💯 Main narrator of the video @l1lyluv 😂👍🏼 #motivationiscontagious #nyctri #nyctri2017 #nofear #swim #2017goals @nyctriathlon @2xu #trainhard #trainsmart #runningcoach #personaltrainernyc #triathlontraining #triathlon #triathlete #goals #swimmotivation #teamwilpower #fitness #fitfriends #songnotafraid #eminem #hiphop #faceyourfears @xterrawetsuits 🙌🏼
