@washington.press used a photo of @kaylilemoyne holding the WOMEN Light Brigade sign next to the #DUMPTRUMP sign in an article about 45 trying to co-opt the Women’s Marches. Ew, hate seeing a tweet of his smothering my art 🤬

Last picture tonight. It’s too good to leave out. Great action @pen_america ‼️

And here’s a 💥GREAT💥 picture from the march earlier 👊😂

We’re joining #BrickXBrick and the #NYCLightBrigade at the @NYPL at Bryant Park for @pen_america’s Writers Resist: #LouderTogether event. We’ll be here ‘til 6:30pm—and hope to see you! #artunitesus #culturekeepsbordersopen

PEN America on the steps of the main Manhattan library! Great post-Women’s March event.

Got the HERSTORY IN THE MAKING banner ironed and ready to go! I guess the fact that it will be marching in its second Women’s March makes it all the more #herstoric ‼️Have an awesome day Everyone‼️

Just dropped off PEN America’s new #NYClightBrigade sign at their office in SoHo. It will be used at their Writers Rising Reading tomorrow at 5 on the main 5th ave Library steps for the #ArtActionDay put on by We the Federation.... along w a bunch of other signs 😊Right after the Women’s March, and just around the corner! photo by @mr_hip

WOMEN’S MARCH TOMORROW! UNITE 4 POWER! Go to womensmarch.com to find a march near you. This NYC Light Brigade pic was taken a few years ago of powerful Women demanding rights for the Dalit women of India 👊🌺🇮🇳

A @hyperallergic article entitled “A Day of ‘Beautiful Artistic Chaos’ Will Mark the First Anniversary of Trump’s Inauguration” used this photo of the #NYClightBrigade. This picture was taken during a #FreeExpression collaboration w @pen_america and @illuminator99 back in 2014 in front of the @brooklynmuseum On Sat, January 20th, a collective of artists, arts workers, and cultural groups is organizing ‘Art Action Day’ which includes an eclectic program of national events.
I’m excited to announce that PEN America, The Illuminator and I will be collaborating again, creating an illuminated reading by well known authors on the steps of the main NY Public Library as part of this national day of artistic action. The main library is one block away from Bryant Park where the NY @womensmarch will conclude so I encourage everyone to join us there at 5:30 after you march!

Hey! My MLK #NYClightBrigade sign also made it to page 5 of the @nydailynews today! Part of a photo collage that also shows other #ProtestArt and the anger and empowerment felt by the largely #Haitian crowd. We all gotta #keepfighting and my plan is to #fightwithlight ! Thanks again @pnice_diamond @jaywwalker @ty_ty719 @yanaland and @athenamama2.0 for helping these lights shine high ✨💥🙏👊💞💥✨

Special Shout out to this amazing soul that we met yesterday while at the anti racism rally. I am so happy to see your work and lights being acknowledged. It was truly a Blessing to meet you. One thing I can truly say is no matter what race, or color there is nothing we can’t accomplish when we come together and support one another. #NYClightBrigade #strongertogether💪🏾 @athenabright

My #NYClightBrigade signs are on the front page of the New York Times today! Yesterday’s #antiracism rally in Times Square was a truly moving event. I am grateful I am able to create shining messages of truth that the media chooses to illustrate the power of the people in these times. There is nothing I’d rather be doing. Thanks so much @jaywwalker @pnice_diamond @athenamama2.0 @yanaland @ty_ty719 and everyone else who helped hold these signs high!

Repost from @athenabright - Wow, honored that my @pen_america banner was chosen to be on the homepage of #thefederation organization to illustrate their central message that #artisessential to democracy. This is precisely why I’m dedicated to creating my banners and #nyclightbrigade signs and actions, and how I feel I can best contribute in the fights for #socialjustice and #climatejustice. The Federation, brought together by Laurie Anderson, LauraMichalchyshyn, and Tanya Selvaratnam is organizing an Art Action Day that will take place nationally on January 20th, 2018. Hmmm, wonder how I can contribute... follow @athenabright and stay tuned ✨👊😉💥✨

HAPPENING NOW: Rally for Justice. Rally against racism. Many of our elected officials speaking the truth. @1199 @1199seiu

Took this shot 3 yrs ago of my dear friend and neighbor @kobiedixon sitting above an 18’ banner I had just finished. MLK knew, felt and spoke the truth. I feel obligated to continue to #fightforjustice in ways he would appreciate. #justicedelayedisjusticedenied #justiceforall

Made a new friend on the way home tonight. First he looked at my friend and I with doubt and questioned what we were doing. I told him we had these signs out in honor of #DrMartinLutherKingJr on #MLKweekend A couple stops later he was excitedly holding the message and I was taking pics on both our phones. #brooklynlove

A photo of the #NYClightBrigade taken by #JoePenny for @reuters at the #defendDACA march last August was used to illustrate a @pbs @newshour story by #LisaDesjardens yesterday.

REPOST: @zesty_pix from last night at #istandwithravi march and rally.

Cannot believe that my friend #RaviRagbir was detained by ICE today. But we’re fighting hard to get him out. #istandwithravi #nyclightbrigade
