It’s dinner thyme! What to do on a cold Friday night? Experiment with new recipes of course! Made the lamb chops I ordered in my @moinkbox. I must say, for my first time making lamb, it was pretty delicious!

Lamb chops sizzled in garlic and thyme: Seasoned the lamb with salt, pepper and dried thyme. In a skillet, I heated avocado oil. Added the lamb, garlic fresh thyme and cooked over moderately high heat until the chops were browned on both sides, about 3 minutes each side. Then put the. in the oven at 375 for 7 minutes.
Sauce: Added water, lemon juice, and crushed red pepper to the pan and cooked with the garlic and thyme, scraping up any browned bits stuck to the bottom, until sizzling, about 1 minute. Then poured the garlic pan sauce over the lamb chops.

I’ve gotten a lot of questions lately about meal ideas, and what I like to eat. Here is a breakfast option that I have almost everyday. I start with plain, unsweetened coconut yogurt. I make this a more complete meal by adding to it. Here you see @anitasyogurt coconut yogurt mixed with almond butter, sunbutter, flax oil, @vitalproteins collagen, maca powder, cinnamon, and blueberries (fresh or frozen both work well!). All ingredients are organic (OBVI). Not only is it delicious, but it’s super satisfying- it has a great mix of fat, protein and fiber. This is always important, but especially so right now since I’m breastfeeding- I need that healthy fat for my milk! The flax oil helps to keep me regular, the collagen is great for the gut, joints and skin, the blueberries give it a sweet punch while providing antioxidants, and the cinnamon adds so much flavor and has anti-inflammatory properties (who wouldn’t want that?!). Below is are the proportions I use- try it out and let me know what you think!

1 heaping teaspoon of almond butter
1 heaping teaspoon of sunbutter
1 scoop of collagen
I teaspoon maca powder
Handful of blueberries
I mix that all of those ingredients together and then add in as many heaping teaspoons of yogurt until I get the consistency as I desire. I personally like it thick, but you can start with 7 heaping teaspoons, mix it all together and add more until you reach your desired consistency/taste.
Then add cinnamon to taste (I use a lot!)

Using this weekend to get back on track. Who’s with me?!

Thinking about doing a sugar-free week. Would anyone like to me? That means no artificial sugars as well as maple syrup, coconut sugar or honey 😱

I was craving Thai tonight, but with 3 kids who didn’t nap this afternoon, thought it best to stay in and make it for myself 🤷🏼‍♀️

The dEats: @skinnypastausa sautéed with Zucchini Noodles, Carrots 🥕, Broccoli 🥦, Bamboo Shoots, Peas, Water Cheatnuts, Edamame, Mushrooms 🍄 and Braised Tofu. I then doused it in a Homemade Peanut 🥜 Tamarind Sauce and some Coconut Aminos. I could eat this [practically] every night and be completely happy 😋

Surely I’m not the only one who's done this🙈? A few years back I completely quit sugar and as a sweet tooth I can tell you, it didn’t end well 😂⠀

Sometimes a healthy swap can do the trick but other times, only the real deal will do. If you're really craving that chocolate, instead of trying to substitute with a *healthier option*, just eat a sensible portion. Then you can avoid eating half a tub of peanut butter, feeling totally unsatisfied and end up having the chocolate anyway. ⠀

Food is meant to be a source of pleasure and enjoyment, not just fuel for the body! In my experience, avoiding complete restriction (of any food) naturally helps you to have a more balanced and healthy approach to food. ⠀

It is a chilly and snowy day here in Ottawa so a nice bowl of lamb stew is on the menu for tonight.
I browned the lamb this morning and then added water to the liquid left behind, mixed it together and added the whole to the crockpot alongside baby carrots, onions and sweet potatoes. Spices are salt, pepper, rosemary and thyme.
Simmered on high for 5 hours and added frozen peas the last 30 min.

Stuck for a breakfast idea? Try this one. This is the well known two egg, 1 banana pancake. But I also added to the mix:
2TBS buckwheat flour
1 TBS oat bran
I topped with blueberries, chopped hazelnuts, pumpkin seeds and a drizzle of honey. .
I call it the: what have I got in the pantry pancake. I slightly overlooked it, but it was still delicious. Gluten free, high in protein, texturally delicious, perfect carb/protein combo for my post-training meal.
