I know the ups & downs of emotional eating & bingeing. Food addictions, stress eating, stress NOT eating, calling yourself names while you eat 😣😢, feeling guilty for splurging...I said ups & downs though. I know my very low lows, but to know & experience freedom, peace, correcting negativity around the kitchen & my choices, being able to call myself & Josh our healthiest yet in our thirties, ENJOYING food, finally being a good cook!!!! Can I get an 🙌🙌 AMEN!!! Ya'll know my history of binge-eating. After a rough day or a run-in with someone or exorbitant amounts of stress & pressure, I'd seek comfort thru food. And I'd seek it in rather large amounts 😲. Ashamed of that? Not anymore. The amazing thing about being able to confront my issues & past of horrible health is that it has no hold over me.
So when my team created Take Back the Kitchen last Summer to provide families with a weekly meal plan from our Registered Dietician, my kitchen & nutrition was busted wide open. I was no longer afraid of foods that were "bad" or that we "shouldn't" eat. I was able to eat foods I love, & have control & structure, and 💃💃 SUCCESS! And when me or one of my challengers is dealing with emotional eating or cravings, I pray. I give it up to☝️him, because he can take that away & remind me of my purpose, of how he wants me to be my best, of how I'm here to lead & help others.
