🌞Time for another Buddha bowl 🌞:
Herbed quinoa[quinoa with fresh and finely chopped basil and parsley]sweet potato fries,cucumber, teriyaki tofu[fry tofu in coconut oil until golden- then add teriyaki sauce and continue frying], and a tahini sauce(For 3 servings mix 60g of tahini with 15g of maple syrup and salt .Add water to thinnen it out.) ~
This bowl is simple yet delicious and super healthy.
Here are some nutritional facts:
It will keep you full because it's full of plant protein from the tofu and quinoa.💪 It also contains healthy fats from the tahini which are really satiating as well. In addition tahini is rich in calcium and copper.
🍠Sweet potatoes are super high in vitamin A. Vitamin A is a fat- soluble vitamin ; so it's best to eat foods high in Vitamin A with a source of healthy fats.Tahini for example.😁
These are only some of the many health benefits of this meal. To go into greater detail I'm thinking about doing separate posts on foods, vitamins and how they effect us in the future.
But to end this post I want to address one thing: Caring about what we eat is great because the things we eat have a huge impact an our health[and the environment🌳]. The foods we eat can literally make us sick 😷 or at the other hand they can reverse disease.✨ Wanting to live healthy so that you can thrive in life is great. BUT wanting to be healthy can easily become unhealthy when you start to obsess over it: Obsessing over vitamins, calories, macronutrients, exercise - you name it... I believe it's important to keep in mind that we eat to live and not live to eat. Food shouldn't be on our mind the whole time and obviously we shouldn't stress about it. At the end it's all about balance. Food should be fun and enjoyable after all .✌️
