As we grow older, into self sufficient, independent beings, capable of fending for ourselves, lusting after money and things to acquire; we let go of the nurturing, care and attention doled out, to others and ourselves. Most amount of nurturing is given to babies, gradually decreasing as we grow older.
Once we step into the work life, after the initial teething process of getting used to this grind, moulding ourselves into these strange worker drones, our focus to nurture and care disappear.
Our language for success and progress changes. No longer are we encouraged and cheered on for the tiny, seemingly banal completion of tasks but are only heralded for our big achievements.
Maybe it's time we remind ourselves of our over enthusiastic primary school teachers, who emotionally nurtured us, cheered us on; and begin practicing that for ourselves, and those we interact with, especially professionally.
Let's give more gold stars, for the seemingly boring and banal actions and smallest achievements.
Could we even contemplate it..?what do you think would happen? What do you feel it could lead to?
