The first (and last) time I stayed at an all-inclusive Mexico resort for my spring break my dad told me "you will regret spending all this money on such a shallow trip of poolside watered down drinks and never leaving the walls of a resort." In my book, my dad was NEVER right so I proceeded to go on the trip anyways. Day 1: I drank too much tequila and didn't stop screaming which lead to me losing my voice for 5 FULL DAYS. Day 2: unable to say a word, sat on the sidelines sipping hot honey water in the blazing sun desperate for relief. Day 3: Trying to get back in the game but I'm getting really worn out and my voice is negative. Day 4: wishing I could express my wish to get out of the alcohol tainted pool to go to the beach but I have no voice to do so. Day 5: really wondering what Mexico is like...... I was ashamed to admit it, but for the first time in my 18 years at the time, my dad was right. I promised myself from that moment on that I would never waste time or money on anything less than a cultural travel experience again. I have traveled to 15 countries since then. I have not seen the inside of one resort, because I traded that in for the world. @theacrocaveman and I wanted to give college students the opportunity to have a cultural spring break so we created this: Costa Rica YogAdventure. 6 day, 6 nights, walking distance to the beach/downtown/bars/ grocery stores, yoga every damn day, waterfalls, surfing, and vegetarian food.
