Whenever I talk about being self conscious about myself or my body, I always get the comment โ€œyou shouldnโ€™t beโ€ or โ€œitโ€™s hard to believe you struggle with thatโ€. The thing is, body image issues donโ€™t discriminate. Unfortunately, Iโ€™ve struggled with it my entire life and I can literally remember when I was little comparing myself to other girls and not wanting to get over 80 pounds (idk how old I was, but obviously young as hell) because I thought that was too big at the time. LAWD.

I also struggled a LOT once I had my growth spurt - I was always short/average sized height and then I shot up like 8 inches no lie and then I always felt โ€œbiggerโ€ than everyone. I started hunching all the time so that I wasnโ€™t taller than anyone, and I felt like my weight needed to be like 120 or under (at 5โ€™9) just because my peers were. Obviously not the case at all.

Iโ€™ve come S U C H a long way in regards to body image, but of course I have good and bad days. Iโ€™ve learned to realize that Iโ€™m blessed for what my body can DO for me, and not ONLY what it looks like. Sure, I love body building and having a fit, healthy physique & maybe getting some shreds from time to time. But the difference is now I focus on trying to love every stage Iโ€™m at in my journey and most importantly focusing on health and happiness.

I feel like every prep I look back at pictures in disbelief that I was ever THAT lean.. Then with each prep I bring in better and I'm left amazed yet again... It's okay to impress yourself. It's okay to reward yourself and to pay yourself on the back. It's okay to take a step back and be proud of what you've accomplished. ๐Ÿ‘‘๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿฝ _

Throwin' some raw progress pictures your way๐Ÿ™ˆ The picture on the left was taken 10.5 weeks ago on January 14th, which was my first day of prep. The picture on the right was taken today, which puts me at 10.5 weeks out from my next show. Seeing the progress I've made so far and only being half way through my prep is so exciting, especially while doing minimal cardio and still eating a good amount! Best part is that I'm happier and healthier than ever. Coach just made some changes to my diet this week so I'm excited to see how my body responds! Feeling less achey today after 90 degree hot yoga last night with @francescacorsaro14 and from a higher carb day today ๐Ÿด

Cardio during prep โžก๏ธ 6 sessions a week I try to keep most of them fasted depending on my energy in the morning. On 2 rests days I take off from all weights completely, yoga or boxing are two of the best exercises that keeps my heart rate up especially when stairs get repetitive. Put in 110% and you will be surprised what you get back ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿผ
