It’s moments like these that make me grateful! Our first Christmas together, set up our tree, drinking mint tea && the scent of pine 🌲 (thanks to our candle) is filling our house. Next year we will be getting a “real tree” as I grew up with the old traditional saw your own tree, however this will always be part of our first home experience 🏡 Comment with your favorite Holiday tradition.

I’ve seen so much lately about how the only thing that matters is calories. Now I just want to be clear- Yes, if you burn more calories then you eat, you will lose weight. Yes, if you consume more calories then you burn, you will gain weight. If you consume and burn equal amount of calories you will maintain your weight. There is no magic to that science.


But what I’m getting at is that overall health is dependent on much more then just calories. You can continue to consume junk- such as zero calorie drinks (Red Bull’s, monsters, etc.), diet soda because it’s “sugar free”, and eat things such as sugar free maple syrup if all you care about is they way you appear physically. But just because you have a rocking 6 pack and a banging booty doesn’t mean your healthy. Do you ever ask yourself what is in these products that makes them taste good yet have zero calories, or what is in place of the sugar or fat that is typically found in them? It’s literally chemicals. Chemicals that with time have a devastating effect on your health. •

Get clear on what you want and get clear on what matters to you- because there is a big difference between looking fit and truly being healthy!

It’s usually this time of the year where health gets compromised and the excuses to over eat , indulge in quantities of sugar - carbs seems to be okay for now. Why have we gotten to a place where we forfeit our own well being, just because we can now get away with it doesn’t mean your doing any good for yourself. I personally can speak from a place where food tied to memories which equated love and fuzzy feelings- which made me actually feel horrible.

Not only that but I masked what my body was really trying to tell me with a life of busyness, and not making time for myself. Nutrition has not just become a fad anymore for me or a New Years resolution, but more so a way of life. I realized on a chemical level, my cells were literally regenerating what I was feeding them. If that’s not something to be concerned about I was also dealing with chronic fatigue, stress and hormonal imbalances that ruled my life & am still currently walking through. I was at the mercy of my bodies reactions to these foods, habits of life and decided it was time to change. No longer do I have an excuse to not put myself first - the way I take care of myself now not only effects me physically but as I have stepped into this more it is a direct link to thriving on all levels- body mind, soul and spirit.

There is nothing better you could do now than make that decision for yourself to fully thrive and be who you were created to be. I now have a passion for helping others step into full freedom with their own health. If this is you I would love to walk alongside your personal journey for encouragement & accountability. Hubby and I had a little post chiropractor lunch date today at Yeah Burger to cure his burger craving ❤ I had a beef burger wrapped in a collard with spinach, pickles, cucumbers, and bacon jam and we shared some sweet potato fries. This company has my two favorite paleo friendly restaurants around town I am so grateful to have food options in our city! After traveling the US last year, I realized how many places lack safe food options and to be able to live in a place that at least offers a few non-fine dining places is so refreshing! I am also pretty stoked that baby boy has held his adjustment from last week and while I didn't, I was not in pain leading up to my appointment so I think we can space our appointments out a little more 🙌. Who’s always down for a good ole bowl? 🥣 I underestimate the functionality of breakfast bowls. Here’s a secret to getting all of those “superfoods” into your diet: Put it in a bowl. Pumpkin seeds for seed cycling? Put it in a bowl. Blueberries for brain health? Put it in a bowl. Spinach for Magnesium? Well, find somewhere else to put that.. .

Eating for health can seem so overwhelming when you read about the plethora of foods you “should” be eating for this and that reason. First off, never feel like you HAVE to do anything. Second, combining foods in an easy meal like this is a great method for getting all of your nutrients in. Also try smoothies and scrambled 👍🏼 .
