Date 9 Match 1984 - When Time Stood Still "Nervous?" Mei Mei stopped in mid-bite and withdrew her finger from her teeth. "Just a tad." She admitted. "How is it that you're calm?" Tom shrugged and scratched his head, "Maybe it's because I don't see this as something that defines me." "I don't see this that that way either," she protested, but half-wondering if he was right.
Tom laughed and put his arm arround her and pulled her closer, "I like that you're so ambitious." "And I hated that you're not more.". The words were out of her lips before she knew what she was saying.
His arm went slack and then awkwardly disentangled from her. She quickly went into damage-control mode, "Sorry Tom. I don't know why I said that. It's all this stress of the election." He examined her panic-stricken face, but the words that left her mouth had already found its mark. He touched her face ruefully, "Maybe you're right. I don't place importance to things that most people...that you hold in high regard. But that doesn't that I don't have ambition." He turned away, his face full of emotion, "Given your disdain for my lack of ambition, I hope you will not think any further less of me for what I'm going to do next." Video courtesy of
