Oklahomas Attorney General Scott Pruitt has officially been voted in as the new leader of the @epagov despite his open opposition and criticism of the agency. On 2/16 an Oklahoma county judge ordered Mr. Pruitt to turn over more than 3,000 emails regarding correspondence between Mr. Pruitt and representatives of the oil and gas industry by today's date 2/21/17. The Center for Media and Democracy considers Mr. Pruitt to be in violation of the open records law by not releasing those emails. Another politician sitting in a seat they are not equipped to sit in. If you see your senators name on this list and care about protecting our environment, make sure to remember the name and vote against them in 2018 or 2020. #shame #climatedenier #epa #disaster ( photo reposted from @protectourwinters ) #protectourwinters #pow Thank you to senators @corybooker and Bob Menendez for voting against him.

As attorney general of Oklahoma, Scott Pruit sued the EPA. Yesterday he was confirmed by the Senate to head the very agency he once tried to dismantle. He is unarguably the worst, most dangerous person for the job. The agency responsible for regulating corporations from polluting and destroying our planet, is being run by people whose only interest is protecting coal and oil industries and their profits. This isn't a right or left, liberal or conservative, blue or red issue; this is a violation of environmental rights that puts our planet in jeopardy of irreversible destruction. Call your senators and voice your opposition to Pruitt. Now more than ever we need to resist. If we don't protect the earth, who will?? #ourchildrensearth #peace #love #unitewithloveresistwithlove #protect #noscottpruitt

Do Americans really wish to return to this, so that corporations may get richer?

"It is one of the ironies of our times that, while concentrating on the defense of our country against enemies from without, we should be so heedless of those who would destroy it from within." -Rachel Carson 🖊by @katebrennanhall #wegohighproject

I heard a senator on the radio talking about why Pruitt is a good pick and he said 'he'll fight for the consumer, for affordable prices, for the elderly...' he neglected to say future generations, the streams and rivers, our watershed, clean air, the land, the native people and their rights. 45 and the senators that are owned by fossil fuel may think they put a fox in the hen house but the hens outnumber the fox and we will stop them. RESIST!

His vote is Friday! Call Congress and let them know how you feel about Pruitt's appointment now 877-434-0011 Repost from @mecurial_era: "THANK GOD FOR THE ACLU! I hope you all become members! #ACLU #aclumember ----------------///----------------A state judge has ordered Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt’s office to release thousands of documents related to Pruitt’s communications with the energy industry. The Thursday ruling comes the day before a scheduled Senate vote on Pruitt’s nomination to run the Environmental Protection Agency.

Judge Aletia Haynes Timmons of the District Court of Oklahoma County ruled that the attorney general’s office will have until Tuesday to turn over more than 2,500 emails and other documents. The watchdog group Center for Media and Democracy, with legal representation from the American Civil Liberties Union, had filed a lawsuit against Pruitt earlier this month, alleging that his office had violated Oklahoma’s open records law.

The lawsuit claimed that Pruitt, who has served as Oklahoma’s attorney general since 2011, had failed to respond to nine open-records requests seeking communications between his office and members of the fossil fuel industry, including Koch Industries, Peabody Energy and the National Coal Council. The requests had been filed as far back as January 2015. “We are doing this because these emails should be released so that people can properly vet his record before the Senate votes to confirm him,” Nick Surgey, director of research for the Center for Media and Democracy, told Reuters earlier this month.
On Thursday, Judge Timmons criticized the attorney general’s office for its “abject failure” to abide by the open-records act, according to the watchdog group. #rejectscottpruitt #noscottpruitt #scottpruitt #epa #environment #climate #cleanair #cleanwater" (via #InstaRepost @EasyRepost) His vote is Friday!
