One of the five most important aspects of life for Z and I (currently) is making sure that we don’t take the mountains around us for granted. When we’re lacking clarity or motivation, the first thing that we do is wallow for a quick minute (if we’re being honest), and then we throw our hiking boots (and all the snacks) in the back of the car. Thankfully, the central cascades are basically in our backyard, and the north cascades are nearby. We try to make hiking a priority for three reasons: 1) Nothing beats fresh air and views. 2) One day, when we live somewhere else, the same kind of access won’t be available. 3) We really, really enjoy it.
This summer we’re hoping to venture a bit more south to cover parts of the Wonderland Trail, and explore more of Rainier. If you enjoy hiking in that area, do you have any recommendations? Backpacking or day hike suggestions welcomed! Thank you!
