(Preventing the knees from caving in) These band will get your legs/glutes fired up real quick! If you've follows along thus far, you'll know my routine has been all about #progressiveoverload and as always #compoundlifts are the core of my workouts. I always do my #squats and I incorporate 2 other ones that I switch, today the other two were #benchpress #and #bentoverrows, so legs, chest, and back were my focus today.
I made my legs the biggest focus of all this, I've been guilty of ignoring #legday for too long, so now I always do some legs.
🔥I'm proud to say I joined the 2 plate club today, got a new personal best, I went to 200 for 3 reps after I did my 5x5 with 110, very proud of the progress I've made, consistency is key🔑. I thought for sure this would've ended terribly but sometimes you just gotta go for it, next time I'll see if I can squeeze it 1 more rep💪🏼 Here's a look at what I do.
Squat( Go heavy) 5x5
Leg press (whatever your max 10 is) then rest 30 seconds, go for 8, rest, 6,etc
Then leg curls (a weight that you just do 20 reps with, then move the weight down and do 20 more, and keep doing this till you get to that last 5 pound weight
Don't plan on walking after this, plan accordingly 🔥

Brace yourself...It's along one...a friend said ☝️ that to me about 5 years ago while giving me nutrition and training advice. I wasn't ready to follow everything he said then, (especially when he said I needed to stop eating waffles with syrup every morning. Offensive) but that one piece has followed me everywhere. And it has driven me through my workouts, especially when they get tough. It's made me put down the Oreo balls when I knew I wasn't actually hungry.
I repeated it to myself today as I drove to the gym. And today's workout was largely fueled by a "how dare you" attitude.
How dare I not be fit? How dare I waste my energy and not push to be in the best physical shape I could be in? Not just for me, for my kids, for my husband. Could I carry both kids at the same time to safety? Could I lift my husband over a fence to get us out of danger? Things we shouldn't have to think about, but now we do.
How dare I sit and do nothing when I have others depending on me.
How dare I let myself feel blah and bored and unmotivated all day every day. Because that's exactly how I feel on the days I don't lift, days I don't do anything.
Do I push myself as hard as I could each day? No. But I'm working on it.
Do I eat to live? No, not every day. Because honestly, sometimes I live for the carbs...carb free? Over my bread body.
But I do strive to do better each day. I no longer derail my whole plan because I indulged one day.
As for the picture? Because the booty pump was strong today.
Find your why and don't lose sight of it.
