I’m a big smoothie fan, I love how quick and easy they are to make and how much nutrition you can pack into them. They are perfect for my busy #mumlife and also great for my toddler. I like to make my smoothie low in natural sugars so I tend to use up to 1/2 frozen banana or frozen berries to sweeten and add frozen vegetables to make it thick and creamy and add bonus nutritional benefits. I also add veggies to my toddler’s smoothies (and she has no idea they are in there!)
Some of my favourite veggies to had to my smoothie and my little one’s:
🥒Frozen zucchini (you can freeze this raw or lightly steam then freeze making it a little gentler on your digestion).
🍓Steamed and frozen cauliflower (seriously you can’t taste it!) 🍅Roasted and frozen pumpkin (yup! Using a sweet pumpkin it also adds a natural sweetness - perfect in a cacao/ chocolate flavoured smoothie)
🥑 Avocado (although technically a fruit) makes it so creamy and keeps you fuller longer 🌱And of course, good old greens.. a handful of spinach .
