Oh, hello. Until very recently I wasn’t aware this lens even existed. Soligor 55mm f/2.8 C/D macro with 1:1 adapter. My latest fascination with certain Soligor lenses has led me here. Initial toying around with this lens shows it’s a bit soft wide open but not terribly so. Gets better as it is stopped down (not surprisingly). That 1:1 adapter look at all familiar? It contains no optics, but cosmetically it bears striking resemblance to the 1:1 adapter that was designed for the infamous Vivitar Series 1 90mm f/2.5. And for good reason, Tokina made them both! According to the serial of this lens, it was made by Tokina in 1976. I have seen this 55/2.8 marked with the red ‘P’ but this copy does not have that demarcation. I’ve also never seen this lens in native Nikon mount. I wonder if it was ever made in N/AI mount? Very cool find!
