After deadlifting 100,120,140 and 160kg's i wanted to check myself lifting 180 sumo.
As soon as i saw the video i knew what was wrong.
it's basically a lower back dominant deadlift but with a wider stance.
I'm leaning over the bar too much, and i did not engage my lats enough (notice how the bar swings back and forth on the was up) and my back is not upright enough to call this a sumo deadlift.
Because the first attempt did not come off the ground at all i didn't expect the second attempt to be any better (i shouldn't have yanked the bar as much as i did, in retrospect) . Once the bar started to come up, i had already let go of the bar in my mind. All i needed to complete this crappy lift was the lockout but the focus was gone before i even got it up.
