INFORMATIVE POST FOR NISSAN MAXIMA/ INFINITI I30 & I35 OWNERS . For anyone with an A33 Infiniti i30, you are going to have issues with your motor mounts. 2 of them are fluid filled and 2 are normal rubber. By roughly 60,000-80,000 miles, they will all need to be replaced. That will be evident by knocking noises coming from the front when going over any bump. (It’s also evident when accelerating normally from a stop. If you don’t accelerate from a stop gradually, you will hear a loud thump.) if possible, it is best to replace all 4 motor mounts with mounts from the manual transmission from the a33 Nissan Maxima. Those are all solid rubber mounts and will last significantly longer than the fluid filled ones.
If you are unable to get them replaced before 80,000 miles, it’s highly recommended to unplug the electronic motor mounts. There is no fuse on these wires, and as the computer attempts to actuate the mounts that don’t work, there’s a probability that it will short itself out and you’re gonna need a new computer. Any questions about this issue, dm me.
