DAY 1a. I did not write as I had intended, following my last Day 1 post.
Life is busy and it can sometimes feel like it gets in the way of wanting to do ‘other’ things. I often think, if I only had the time to do this, or that, or make sure I do the writing I want, or make that Yoga class. While watching Australia Ninja Warrior, a TV show I really enjoy, it dawns on me. Every one of these people have the same 24 hours that I do, yet they make time work for them. Secretly I would love to give Ninja Warrior a shot, but I fear that the commitment it would take, is not something I recognise in this lifetime for me. Maybe it’s more a fear of failure that stops me, maybe it’s a fear of success - something I personally don’t accept often.
But watching Ninja Warrior gives me a boost of identifying where my time spent doing things, might not be well presented for achieving things I want to achieve. I fluff around on the Net hopping from one tab to another, mindlessly scrolling at times and at other times, taking in film, TV, music and writing information. All of these are things that inspire me and I think, geee I’d love to write a blog, start a YouTube channel, hold a weekly meditation space, but something holds me back.
Anyway, the weekend just past was not one of sitting back and wanting to do things. No, it was full of wonder, movement, family, laughs, tattoos, renovations, stories, pies and snot blocks for lunch and the 1st preview of a new show at my night job. It was non-stop, but it was well worth it and it just goes to show when you do set your mind to something, like laying a new kitchen floor for your Mum and Dad with your Sister, it can be done!
Who said you need BOYS to do kitchen reno’s….not my parents!! And as you can see if the pic above, my Sister and I finally got our matchy-match tattoos of a pair of WINGS that allow us to fly together, but also lets us spread our wings and be independently powerful. Thanks to the incredible @missctattoos at @eastsideringwood for these gorgeous watercolor wings! **Note, they’re still fresh and a little raw, but I couldn't’ wait any longer to post them.
