I felt so many emotions after my first marathon. First of all I have to thank grandma/grandpa, uncle/aunties for supporting my training and watching my babies when needed so I could run races or log miles.
I started my race and had a fantastic pace through the first 16. I was reminded right before to enjoy it so I did even when it got super hard the last 10. The weather was perfect! I was inspired when I ran past an impaired vision runner and really by everyone else out there. I loved the bands that played along the way, and I took my head phones off and listened to each of them, waved, and said thank you. I smiled at each police officer and medic along the route and thanked them as well. I sang out loud and didn't care who heard. I lifted my face to the sky and ran with my eyes closed a couple times and enjoyed the sunshine on my face. I gave high fives to the chili beans which reminded me of my own and ran harder for them. I tapped all the funny signs along the route and gave head nods to the "strong" signs toward the end. They knew it was tough so appreciated the love and needed those strength signs to push forward. I smiled at each text I received bc I could read them on my watch, each one gave me more strength. Thank you for those, you all know who you are. All in all, I finished with a 10:23 average pace for the 26.2. I am excited to take this break and get back to it. I learned lessons and ready to tackle the next one. Thank you all for the love and support! ❤️🏃🏾♀️❤️ #OnlyTheBeginning #OfficiallyAMarathoner #Marathoner #FirstTimer #Excited #Gains #Goals #CantStopWontStop #FeelsSoGood #HurtsSoGood #PortlandMarathon #nativewomenswilderness #redearthrunner #igrunners #N7 #NikeN7 #RunningMomOfThree #SevenFourAndOne #SupportiveFamily #OneLuckyLady #LifeIsGreat #Strength #Warrior #NativeRunner #NativeBeauty
