Drawn to history repeating itself, in the 1995 Eastern Conference Semifinals, the league cracked down on Michael Jordan's signature shoes once again (remember the league banning the Air Jordan 1 Black/Red color way?). With the debut of the Concord Air Jordan XI in Game 1, the league issued fines to MJ for not matching his teammates black shoes. Instead of receiving more fines, in Game 3, Michael Jordan took to the court wearing the signature sneaker of series opponent and rising star Penny Hardaway. Although they were not officially announced as his signature shoe they coincidently have Penny's #1 on the pull tab and in the name as well as donning the Orlando Magic colorway. Wearing the Nike Air Flight Ones in the Black colorway, Michael made it known that they were his pair by cutting off the rear pull tab donning Penny's #1. Although Penny and the Magic ended up winning that series, it's probably safe to say Penny got some joy out of knowing that his signature shoe was and is the only other signature shoe Michael Jordan ever wore on court.
