About Before We’re Gone:
When you reach the end, who will you want by your side?
BEFORE WE’RE GONE tells the story of a Pulitzer-winning playwright and outspoken political activist, who has disappeared from her high-profile life in New York, Hollywood, and the tabloids, to hide under an assumed name in a secluded seaside motel in Santa Barbara, California. It's there she plans to end her.
As she's about to commit suicide, there is a knock on her door. It is a man with whom she had a brief relationship twenty-five years ago. She was thirty-six and at the height of her Broadway fame. He was naïve, twenty, and studying to be a Catholic priest. Over the last twenty-five years, they have not seen each other nor spoken.
Performed by a powerhouse cast, Before We're Gone presents an emotionally visceral story about love, choosing your own journey in life, and how memories of the past have a way of complicating the future. This Week's Performances:
