Today, cannabis is grown throughout #Nigeria, with most cultivation sites located in the states of #Edo, #Delta, #Ekiti, #Ondo, #Osun, #Ogun and #Oyo in the southwest, where the tropical coastal climate allows the plant to thrive. Much of #Nigerias population is still heavily dependent on agriculture, and cannabis is a favored crop as it commands far higher prices than any other.
While cannabis has only existed in Nigeria for a few decades, a culture of use has sprung up around it. Several notable Nigerian musicians, including the renowned #FelaKuti, espoused its use, and it has become an increasingly common sight among the nation’s youth, particularly in urban areas. It is thought that up to 22% of Nigerians regularly smoke cannabis, with the 15-29 demographic the most likely to consume the drug.
There are no traditional words for cannabis: it is popularly known as #Indianhemp, and #Yoruba and #IboLoanwords are also in widespread use (#igbo and #nwonkaka).
Also know for the #YorubaNigera cannabis which is a very special and unique strain, as it has never been crossed with other strains before. This particular #herb originates from Africa, and according to Yoruba history, it was smoked for #medical and #spiritualpurposes. The Yoruba Nigeria #cannabis strain has a very hash like taste and scent, with a hint of #carrots, #mandarinoranges and #mangoes. This pot has a strong smoke with a fruity finish.

Olawale Kasimawo and Emmanuel Mmaduike, London yahoo boys jailed.
.
.
Two members of a London-based Nigerian cyber crime group have been jailed after stealing more than £1m.
.
Emmanuel Mmaduike and Olawale Kashimawo, both 31, spent the money on "a lavish lifestyle", according to the National Crime Agency.
.
The pair hired a helicopter and drove "flash cars", and "posed for photographs of themselves with wads of money, expensive watches and drinking champagne".
.
They ran their scams from southeast London after obtaining thousands of business email addresses and passwords - which they used to divert payments away from legitimate companies to themselves.
.
Known officially as "business email compromise" (BEC), the attack involves the criminal impersonating a senior executive and attempting to convince the victim to transfer funds.
.
The pair are believed to have carried out more than £1m of fraud and money laundering between April 2015 and November 2015, according to the NCA.
.
Mmaduike was jailed in March 2017 for six years and 10 months after he admitted money laundering and fraud.
.
He also admitted perverting the course of justice in relation to a sham marriage to a Dutch national.
.
On Thursday, his accomplice Kashimawo was jailed at Kingston Crown Court for six years and nine months after admitting two counts of conspiracy to commit money laundering.

Capitalism uncensored. Nigeria is nothing but a market to the u.s. After expressing disdain for Nigerians, Trump wanna overcome trade barriers so America can sell more agricultural goods there. The barrier is China, who Nigeria already has strong trade relations with. This is a turf contest. Wonder what barriers will the u.s. remove to enhance flow of Nigerian goods into u.s. Well, We all know the answer to that. We already get Nigerian oil, via Britain's Shell Corp. who still clings tightly to #nigerias massive oil resources. #aljazeera #biafra #freebiafra #neocolonialism #imperialism #capitalism #melanin #african #panafrican #panafrikan #panafricanism #rna50 #freetheland
