While at Moniker I didn’t have a chance to check @theotherartfair which was running downstairs and missed out @shangrilart’s display of fantastic artists including my favourite @carriereichardt. I did see Dada, the Trojan horse 🐎 at the end on my way out of Truman Brewery. Carrie and Nick Reynolds ‘transformed their horse into a highly crafted and politicised artwork. The horse’s head was re-structured to resemble a skull, whilst the body was covered in ceramic tiles detailing the history of horses and the atrocities they have undergone at the hands of men. These included statistics from the animal rights group Animal Aid on fatal injuries to racehorses.’ (From Carrie’s website). It’s quite a statement, go to http://www.carriereichardt.com/trojan-horse.html to see and and read about it. So glad I finally saw it in person.
