Ok, here’s my dilemma. I cast on this sock on New Year’s Day. It’s my first sock and it’s been a learning experience. The sock is not perfect but it’s ok. Nothing I can’t live with. The pattern is the Hermione’s Everyday Sock and the yarn is by Norah George in the Miracle on 34th Street colorway. I’ve had this sock pattern on my list for awhile and it’s one of my #2018makenine. The problem is that I’m not loving it. It’s not the pattern or the yarn or any one thing. It’s the combination of the pattern and the yarn. Although I love it this yarn color doesn’t really let the texture of the knitting pattern show through. And I thought I was fine with that. Until I got to the foot and saw how the yarn was knitting up in stockinette. I love the way the sole is knitting up and the rest of the sock...😕not so much. I’m already not wanting to cast on the second sock. But I’m almost done. All that’s left to do is the foot and toe and bind off. So what do I do? Do I keep knitting and hope I cast on a second one? Or do I frog it and pick another pattern for this yarn? Help! I’m so undecided.
