The woman's meal: inspired by #VirginiaWoolf #aroomofonesown
We begun the evening with a questions and answers by @dearlovelucy while we were all serviced the VW #cocktail, which was most refreshing.
The starter: veggie consumme which was lovely and light and most needed for a chilly night. We could smell the plates of soup from a far and the aroma that came through, smelt as delicious as it tasted.
Main meal: #rumproastbeef with roasted #newpotatoes and #greensalad there was also a vegetarian option which looked equally as delicious and I was told was amazing. I can't begin to describe how incredible this beef tasted. It was tender, soft and melted so easily in my mouth with each bite I took. The potatoes were lovely and hot, just the way I like them. The green salad accompanied the main dish rather well.
Lastly was the pudding: #prunes in #Armagnac with brown bread ice cream. It was a rather Royal and boozy affair. I'm not a fan of prunes and will avoid eating them, but these were something else. It seemed to have included all the right mix to make it a great pudding. The ice cream was amazing and complimented the soaked prunes well.
We were also given a glass of wine to have with our meal. This was my first ever supper club event and I'm glad my sister was able to be my date for the evening. A keen cook, who is forever cooking for others as well as being a full time carer, I thought it would be a lovely treat, for once, to allow someone else cook for her and really appreciate their cooking, which she most did. We couldn't highly recommend the roast beef enough.
Many thanks to @waterstonestcr who thought of this brilliant idea. I am hoping there will be more #supperclubs organised as I would most definitely go to more. @bakingfiction
