Do you know who you are?
I attended a women’s night at my church this Friday and our amazing Pastor spoke right to my heart. I want to share with you some of her insight.
If someone asks you who you are, what do you say?
Do you list off what you do?
I’m an accountant. A mom.
Or maybe you bring up struggles to define yourself? I’m an alcoholic. I’m an addict.
Friends, that’s not who you are.
God gives us an identity before He gives us a role.
We need to define who we are in Christ.
Not our looks. Not our job. Not our past.
So who are you?
You are NEW creation!
You aren’t going to get where you need to go based on who you used to be.
And no, you aren’t just a remodeled version of yourself either.
God sees the finished product after He’s grown a new life in us.
And once this happens, we are changed!
You are FORGIVEN.
God is not mad at you.
So stop hating yourself, sweet friend.
Jesus switched roles with us.
He takes our sins and makes them vanish.
So stop living like there are still remnants lingering behind.
When we fail, He forgives us, and we start again like it never was.
Often times we have trouble understanding God’s forgiveness cause we don’t forgive the same way.
Forgiveness isn’t a feeling. It’s a choice.
One that God continues to make for us.
You are ROYALTY.
You are a daughter of the King.
Literally, YOU are a Princess, do you hear me?
When we understand that we are wearing a beautiful crown on our head, we live differently.
He chases after us with a Love that is so powerful that you can’t help but accept it when it hits you.
When we understand we are valuable, we live differently!
But we aren’t royalty to be served. We are a Princess called to serve people.
We are His AMBASSADORS.
Once we understand we are loved and valued, then we understand what our job is.
We’re here to represent Him.
Earth is our assignment, not our home.
When you’re tempted to lose sight of who you are, stop and remind yourself WHO YOU ARE.
Doing things comes out of what we believe.
So let’s fight to believe we are who HE says we are.
Cause then we can be ambassadors and bring His Love to a world in need.
