Richard Hunt, who was born sixty-six years ago today, was among the earliest puppeteers hired to perform on Jim Henson's "Sesame Street" and he subsequently worked on other Henson projects, including "The Muppet Show" and "Fraggle Rock."
Hunt's best known characters on "Sesame Street" were Forgetful Jones, Placido Flamingo, Don Music, Gladys the Cow, and an early version of Elmo. On "The Muppet Show," Hunt's characters included Statler, Beaker, Scooter, Sweetums, and Janice.
