WORKING MUMS APPRECIATION POST:
Today, I went back to work for an emergency teaching day - yes, I am a teacher!
I must say I was super excited in the lead up to today. I got to school, I prepared myself, set up the classroom and had a chat to my team. I couldn’t wait to start the day.
I had an amazing day and I didn’t once think about nappies, naps or teething gel. It was refreshing!! .
My mum had my daughter for the day and she was fabulous in sending me pictures of what adventures they were getting up to. I had an amazing first day back at work and it is safe to assume I was buggered - super tired after a busy, hectic and full on day.
I picked my daughter up and went home and had to organise dinner and lunches for tomorrow etc. Thank goodness my beautiful mum had made us a lasanga and all I had to do was make a salad to go with. Then we had to do the usual, bath, bottle and bed routine.
Now, as I sit to catch up on emails, messages, phone calls and my socials I can tell but think. How do working mums do it? I am exhausted after one day and to be honest, I had it easy. Dinner was made, I had no stress about my daughter during the day and who was caring for her and I have a pretty amazing job! Seriously, if one or all of those things were missing, I would have been a complete wreck and would have been asleep before the baby, lol.
To all working mums out there - you’re amazing, you rock and you’re my inspiration!!
