Somethings are not to be missed. They are the fundamental stone in life, the basic survival kit. This Malt Mate loved the sweetness and delicacy of #Glenmorangie distillerie from the first time I tasted #QuintaRuban. The smoothness, the lightness and the subtle tones captivated me from the start. But where those come from? As explained on the post of Quinta Ruban, this whisky was matured for ten years in American Oak casks and finished for two others in ruby port pipes. These ten first years generate #TheOriginal. The backbone for the core Glenmorangie range (#Nectard'or, #QuintaRuban, #Lasanta). This baby was bought at ridiculous U$33 and is now part of my basic collection. The other is #Duthac, a part of the Legends range and it's a travel retail exclusivity. The origin of the name comes from the centre of the Royal Burgh of Tain, Ross-shire, in the far north of Scotland where lies the resting place of St Duthac. During the Middle Ages, the legends of his workings drew travellers from far and wide on pilgrimages to the ancient burgh.
This expression honours the annual pilgrimage made by King James IV to the shrine of St Duthac in Tain. This "royal" whisky costs around U$80 in airport shops. In wonderful duty free San Andres Island, it came out for U$57 😎. One thing's for sure: I'm eager to try and review them! #Slainte my friends!
