I'm not one for deep and meaningful posts, but standby. First time in my home country as a tourist and it was so refreshing to see the girls witness the raw and complex beauty of Africa through new eyes. As well as all the laughs and fond memories, Africa does also confront you with some challenging moments. Challenging not only for new comers, but also for someone who was raised there. Our three unique personalities provided the perfect balance and set the stage for what was to be a trip of a lifetime. A highlight was definitely spending the day with my mum on her Birthday, as you can imagine we were surround by uncle Keith's humor and antics. It's always sad for me to leave South Africa and I always wonder what the ever changing country will be like when I return one day, in the meantime I'll remain optimistic. The unique geometric designs are of the Ndebele people who represent two thirds of South Africa's black population. In such trying times we can only hope the majority of the population can come together and resolve our complex issues in a peaceful manner. "If there are dreams about a beautiful South Africa, there are also roads that lead to their goal. Two of these roads could be named Goodness and Forgiveness" ~Nelson Mandela.
