Y’all. I am SICK. I didn’t think I was going to make it through yesterday. Some sort of viral sinus thing. I still don’t feel well today. And I am so bad at being sick, I am NOT a trooper. But, the show must go on. Exams are in less than two weeks, including the big proctored test.

So since I’m not feeling up to any hardcore studying, I’m working on rewriting some pharmacology notes and playing with @picmonic. I just found out about it and I am in love. Basically they make studying for the nclex easy by putting together visual mnemonics. Then you can take a quiz and figure out what you’re needing more help with. They have a free app that lets you get to know the site and teases you just enough to make you really want premium (it worked for me 😶) ... the link is in my bio for 20% off.. take a look and report back!

Today is drown your sorrows in over priced highly caffinated beverages while studying day. #latte #caramellatte #panerabread #cappuccino #caffeine #study #studying #nclexprep #nclexproblems #almostdone

So over studying!! #nclexproblems

Proof that I’m studying while in Mexico... while also 4 drinks deep. 🤷🏻‍♀️ who says no to twofers?!? Not this girl😜💋#vivalamexico #rivieramaya #vidanta #nclexproblems

This week we had an ATI trainer come in and give us tips on passing NCLEX- which should help with all nursing school tests, since your professors 👩‍🏫 are probably following the rationales and formatting. I have a LOT of takeaways to share, but here’s the main one:
_____
For every question: 🛑 STOP 🛑
_____
✋🏻STORY- what is the question asking? Put yourself in the scenario. What are the issues and who is the client? Spot key words: e.g. Is this a cardiac or respiratory issue? Identify what the question is asking (is it positively or negatively phrased? Is it a priority question where everything is correct?
_____
✋🏻THINK- before looking at the answer options, what does your gut say?
_____
✋🏻OPTIONS- is there anything in the answer options that can be thrown out? Usually if there are two opposites available for selection, one of them is the correct answer.
_____ ✋🏻PICK- just choose an answer! see if it makes sense when you put it back in the story and then DON’T CHANGE IT.
_____
What kind of format really trips you up? Any other tips that work for you?

Across the board, a trait that you will see amongst satisfied, content, happy and ‘successful’ people, is an attitude of gratitude and appreciation. This sense of happiness doesn’t stem from the circumstances of their life.
.
It is the result of cultivating and consistently practicing a level of thankfulness for what they currently have. It’s a practice of choosing to see what is around them and recognizing how abundant the good is in their life.
.
I’m not saying this is always easy. There are days when I have felt so unsure and down that I would have to find things to feel thankful for as I walked to calm myself (I’m thankful I’m alive, I’m thankful I can walk...). However, it’s something that with practice, becomes easier, and really shifts the opportunities in your life. When you live and work towards your goals from this perspective, you suddenly make yourself available to new opportunities, new solutions, and more things to feel grateful for. You work towards the things you want with a clearer mind. @oprah talks about this all the time, and I’m totally with her on this one! This is a practice that has changed my life (and really helped me when I was feeling burnt out at work). I encourage you to try it and let me know how it goes for you!
.
.
Is gratitude a part of your lifestyle? Do you include it in your plan for success? We would love to hear about how you include it in your life! Comment below 👇🏽☺️
