One of the most powerful frogs that I found during my trips around northern Australia! This Northern Barred Frog (Mixophyes schevilli) showed up after a heavy summer rain at Duntree National Park! Its large head and legs and its beautiful copper color with delicate contrasted lines, really amazed me. Another interesting feature was that this color pattern gives him a perfect camouflage over the brown leaves on the ground of the forest. He gave just a few jumps before I couldn't find it any more.
