It’s TUESDAY!! Do y’all know what that means? Means I get to play along with my girl @whisperingmoonhomestead for her #tuesdayonthehomestead.
Today is kind of a jacked up day.
Yesterday I spent most of the afternoon in the garden, planting squash and putting up cattle panel trellises.
I managed to fall my face once and on my tush once.
Because I was hurting so bad, I wasn’t able to sleep last night. In fact, I’m still awake. So not only am I sore, I’m a tad bit grumpy.
Homesteading doesn’t stop just because we hurt or we’re tired or hungry or fill in the blank. Am I right?
But today, I’ll focus on the less physical aspects of homesteading. One of those things is trying to figure out where I’m going to plant some of my medicinals.
This beauty is called, Elecampane (Inulin Helenium). It’s roots were traditionally used as a remedy for pneumonia, bronchitis, and chronic coughs. The roots yield tartan blues and purple dye, which I am hoping to use in my soap making.
@honeycreek_farm @sleepycreekfarmwife and@theforestfarmhouse what are y’all doing today?
