~Trial & Error~
As a small business owner, one of my favorite things is getting ready for an event. About one month before, I begin planning out what I'm selling, checking my inventory and placing orders of things that I may or may not (let's be realistic) need. Once the items have arrived, I begin visioning what the table set up will look like and what will I create first. The week before, I slowly start to restock items such as my bags and business cards and even print up a new price list that will be displayed in a plain black frame on my table. As the days go by my mind is thinking about what labels do I want on what items and can I have a theme? As much as I try, having a theme seems to escape me but believe me I try. Around mid week is when I start to make my Perfect Imperfections goodies because I want them to be as fresh as possible for my customers both old and new. I compare it to baking someone a cake or cooking them a meal. I want it to be as close to fresh out of the oven as it can be. But believe me, getting prepared for an event wasn't always over the course of a month. It was truly more like the night before. It was trial and error and tons of sleepless nights the day before an event that got me to where I am today. As a new business owner, I thought I was super woman and could do everything myself truthfully the day and night before. But along the way, I was always thinking of ways to work smarter not harder. So after working ten hour days, taking a tutoring class for three hours and making it home in time to eat dinner, dessert (who doesn't make time for dessert?), take a bath and go to bed. I wanted to say, thank you!" Because after a long days work, you guys make it so much fun to do what I do!
