Well done Nathan Wyburn this is superb!! I don’t have the best experience with the NHS over the last 10 years with family but I have seen the good they have done for many other people and also can’t imagine a Great Britain without them I don’t believe wealth should mean health and we need to find a way to fund and recover the overstretched NHS so it can fulfil its role the way it was created to do so.
VIDEO - MY LATEST AND BIGGEST EVER ARTWORK is a unique tribute to one of the nations most loved institutions (NHS) on its 70th anniversary and also a celebration of where I grew up! It’s been created (10x14m) using just soil and stone dust from the local Trefil Quarry, near Aneurin Bevan’s homeland of Tredegar and the place where the NHS all began! I’m thrilled to have played a part in bringing him back for NHS70.
The Valleys is such a refreshing change from the city and I encourage everyone to visit its beautiful green landscapes, see what it has to offer and experience its rich heritage.
I really enjoyed working with @LoveTheValleys on this project & can’t think of a more fitting location for the portrait, Trefil moorland (north of Tredegar) where Bevan famously walked to rehearse his speeches during his fight for a better future in healthcare.
I encourage anyone to take place in the Wales Valleys Walking Festival, which takes place throughout September, it’s a month long event where people can book onto walks to explore the Valleys, and some walks include walking in the footsteps of legends to discover fascinating stores, including Nye Bevan!
