[Photo series: Mom’s iPhone] I was looking through my mom’s phone & found a whole life of adventures I had no clue about! This one’s from a trip to Japan. (My favorite is when they text us from the plane saying they’re off to someplace fun - this weekend it was Barcelona. Usually we have no recollection of them telling us about it prior to that moment, but in our defense it’s really hard to keep track of our mom & dad sometimes! 😉)

We do not go into ceremony to talk about god. We go into ceremony to talk with god." -Quanah Parker Comanche. People huddle their way up to the Sensoji Temple to pray and have a word with their teacher. On the way, they have created a life for merchant and tourists to connect. In Buddhist culture, bringing offerings to ancestors (much like visiting a gravesite) is another way to remember their loved ones. #trafficjam #bumpertobumper

For those of you who have been following my account for some time now, in the next few days I will be reposting some of my pictures of my travels from 2017. I am actually revamping my IG account and will be posting these pictures with some new presets that I just discovered from @doyoutravelpresets 😃👍 This is the first one taken at the Inari Shrine in Kyoto last summer.

Celebrating the last days of the new year holiday. The country's population identify with Buddhism as their second largest religion, while the other majority share beliefs in Shinto religion. Most people head toward the temple to share a prayer to wish the best for this new year. This year's animal is the 🐕.

“Actually, I'm not interested in Zen that much, as a philosophy, nor in joining any movements. I don't pretend to understand it. I just find it comforting. And very similar to jazz. Like jazz, you can't explain it to anyone without losing the experience. It's got to be experienced, because it's feeling, not words.”
- Bill Evans (1929-1980)
