Did you know that hyenas have one of the most powerful bites in the animal kingdom? They can even crush through bones, so it was pretty special for our volunteers to capture this hyena cruising along with a whole buffalo's head in its mouth. 📷 = = Big 5 Research Volunteer, Mathias Ragglaugust #Hyenas #WildlifeSightings #WildlifeVolunteer

Am I the only one who finds the concept of selling your Lightroom presets weird? First of all, I don’t really have presets. I like editing my photos in Lightroom. I don’t buy other’s presets or create my own. I spend time editing photos and making the adjustments according to the photo. According to where it was taken, the lighting, the subject matter. I don’t edit my photos all in similar ways to make my feed ‘cohesive’ or whatever. That’s not why I take photos. I get having a style of editing and photography but why would you want others to also have your style? How will you ever be unique if you are selling the presets to your editing? Sure, it can help non-photographers but it doesn’t teach them how to edit, it’s basically like selling the answers to a test; the buyer learns nothing and the answers don’t fully match up with the test but they get you by enough to fake it. I get it, we live in the land of filters and everyone wants to find the best ones... maybe I’m naive but I’d rather learn how to do it myself, even pay for a course or something, and be able to create my own, than just pay for someone else’s presets that may or may not work for my photos. Cause let’s be honest, if you are buying presets and using them, you may not really understand what needs tweaking on Lightroom to make it work for your photo better. Anyways this has been on mind and has come up in conversations lately with some of my insta friends. What do you think? I’m genuinely curious... if you are a photographer, do you sell your presets or would you? If you aren’t, would you buy or have you bought them? (Photos of lemurs cause I still have way more that I haven’t posted and I love them) /•/

Close encounters! Habituated lions like this bruiser pay little to no attention to safari vehicles, they don't make the connection between the car and people, unless of course those people are noisy or stand up and show their profile. It is exceptionally rare for the cats to react adversely to the presence of a safari car, they will in 99.9% of cases let you know they are uncomfortable way before they react.

One of the most scenic routes that I have ever experienced. From Pretoria to Nelspruit. The photos can not describe all the wonders viewed every km.
Tons of farms, small towns, poor people leaving in tiny “houses”, industrial facilities (energy/mining), and more.
Incredible. I wish I could cover more about big scale industrial facilities. —————

Some night shots of this green jungle.
Lucky I invested on the new canon 100-400ii L that give me a decent macro approach.

One day old kitten just starting to lift her head

My physiotherapist told me that I should walk on sea sand to improve the muscle memory in my ankle. The Southeaster howling around Cape Town dares me to even attempt a visit to the beach.
I’m currently ignoring them both by curling up on the sofa with hot chocolate and a mince pie. Did I mention that I’m deluded enough to wish for a chilly Christmas?

Have you? Would you? Shall we?
