Throwback to IITF2016! A treat to the inquisitive and introspective mind, 'Is God A Taoist' by Hans Sangeet Natya Mandal was performed at IAPAR International Theatre Festival 2016. It wasn't set in your typical proscenium, instead the audience and the actors were seated in a cafe-like setting with a live guitarist strumming away. There were only two characters in the play, but eight actors- they all took turns playing the the two characters. It was a dialogue between a 'God' and a 'Mortal' and covered a wide variety of life-related concerns. The play very logically explained heavy philosophy and the unconventional performance ended with serving the audience coffee, along with answers to a few existential questions. The second IAPAR International Theatre Festival is set to happen in Pune from 1st to 12th November, 2017. It will feature performances along with workshops, master classes, and interactive sessions by senior theatre practitioners from several countries as well as India. Mark your dates, we look forward to seeing you there! . .
