Have tightness on one side of your low back? Notice it during squats and lunges? Give this QL release a try...

🔹The Quadratus Lumborum is a rectangular muscle that runs along the low back, and is a common source of tightness and discomfort!
🔸The main contributors to this tightness are postural imbalances and muscle compensation patterns.
🔹Weak Glutes on one side can easily cause the other QL to become tight/overactive!
🔸If this sounds like you, give this self-mobilization/release technique a go.
✔️In the picture I'm using a softball sized ball and placing it underneath my last rib, but above my hip bone.
✔️From there lean back with a Bosu or similar height step to support your upper body.
✔️Pull the knee up to increase the stretch on the QL.
✔️Use your other leg to adjust the amount of body weight put into the ball.
✔️Hold for up to 1 minute at each tender spot.
🔹Now stand up and see how you feel squatting, lunging, etc...

JULY GOALS :: When I was tagged, by the lovely @mindbodysweat 👌🏻to share my June goals, I knew to postpone it until July. ::As you all know I have been in what I call the "maintenance phase" throughout June.... Although, June has been amazing. ::Tyler and I enjoyed our first month of marriage, were guests at both of our good friend's weddings; one in Washington State & one in Calistoga & traveled for 3 1/2 weeks across country and back! :::It was an incredible experience. We ate as well as we could & worked out whenever possible. Now that we are back in action, it is time to hop back on the horn and make some progress 👌🏻💃🏼✨
GOALS:
1️⃣Integrate yoga into my weekly routine at least three days a week.
2️⃣Double my intake of fruits & vegetables.
3️⃣Continue with resistance training- specifically @kayla_itsines BBG program.
4️⃣Study for, take & pass my #nasm certified personal training course.
5️⃣Incorporate additional weight training into my weekly routine.
Bring it on July!! 🙌🏻🤗

Finally decided to make a fitness Instagram! My name is Erin, I'm 18 years old and I've had a passion for working out for a few years now. I recently became a certified personal trainer through NASM and I'm looking to reach out to clients and inspire people through some fun posts on this page! These two pictures were taken a few months apart and I'm already starting to see some growth after transitioning out of my cut and into a maintaining phase.
