2014 Corison Cabernet Sauvignon. Another outstanding Cabernet from Cathy Corison. Cathy has worked for plenty of wineries throughout her career before making her first vintage of Corison in 1987. She fell in love with wine when studying for her Bachelors Degree in Biology, and eventually went on to achieve her Master's in Enology from U.C. Davis. This Cabernet was fantastic. I am surprised at how approachable these wines are for their age. This wine is bursting out of the glass with plum, blackberry, black raspberry, and baking spice. There is plenty of structure in the wine, with all of the core components in place. Great fruit forwardness, a slight floral aspect, some fresh herbs, integrated acidity, hints of mocha, with vanilla hidden within the layers. This wine is sexy. Great job. Should only get better in the next 10 years.
