I don't know why people gravitate towards CRASH diets. Most people don't even go for the easiest thing, they go for the *hardest* thing. What's the point in jumping on an extrene "fast working" diet? You're not going to learn anything about nutrition, you're cutting your "metabolism short" (so to speak), and you're not putting yourself into a position of sustainability. If you jump into a diet that's drastically cutting calories then of course you'll lose weight, but once that diet is over (if you've even acheived your desired weight) you will most likely binge eat, or go back into your old eating habits. In the end you're going to do is regain that weight you lost, if not more! Some people may look at me and assume I "rebounded" from my weight loss, but that's not true at all. I *intentionally* increased my caloric intake and regained weight to reverse diet; which in the long run increases my "metabolic capacity", restores my hormones (I wasn't in a healthy state), and allows me to continue building onto and improving my physique. ▪
Something I HIGHLY recommend for weight loss is to use an app, like MyFitnessPal, and start tracking what you're actually used to eating in a day. From there, you can cut calories. Along the way you'll actually learn portion sizes, and won't be reliant on using an app for maintaining your weight; you'll have actually learned something from the process.
The problem with this is that everyone wants *immediate* results and doesn't want to thing about long term sustainability. No one "has time"!🙃
Yes, I still track what I eat using an app, and weigh my food, but that's because I have competitive bodybuilding goals for the future. ▪
Immediate gratification won't do anything for you in the long run. ▪
